Earlier this week, over 47,000 Southern Baptist Pastors received an email correspondence from former Saddleback Pastor Rick Warren. Warren, who retired from Saddleback last year has been actively pushing to have Saddleback Church readmitted to the Southern Baptist Convention. Saddleback was disfellowshipped from the SBC last year due to them installing several woman into the office of pastor. Warren wants SBC to reconsider their decision and encouraged SBC churches to focus on Gospel unity and to essentially look the other way on the female pastor issue because "numbers are dwindling and this is dividing us." (emphasis mine.)

What will the SBC do? Is female pastoral leadership the future of the SBC. Is this matter something the church should divide over? Is it really that serious? Let's talk about it.
